Annual UC Sustainability Report (April 2015)

The Sustainability Office has released its annual report for 2014. After a busy year of daily hustle and bustle, it is always satisfying to look back over the year and remind ourselves of our highlights and achievements.

Some indicators remain in a steady state or are exhibiting a negative trend. Of particular concern is a significant increase in waste sent to landfill, and a reduction in the tonnage of co-mingled recycling. So please keep putting things in the right bins, and, if possible, reduce what you throw into the red bins. Other indicators are trending in a positive direction, such as the reduction of green-house gas emissions, and the promising results of the composting trial.
